Dr Raj Vaikunthanathan MSC (Diabetes) MBBS, MRCGP, DAvMed PGDip (Diabetes) PGCert MedEd
Dr Raj Vaikunthanathan has over 18 years’ experience as a GP. He is currently the lead GP at Ashgrove Surgery in Llanelli, South Wales. He is also an accredited GP trainer. Dr Vaikunthanathan retired from the Royal Air Force in 2015 in the rank of Wing Commander after completing a 16-year commission. Since his retirement, he has also worked as a salaried GP at Bedgrove Surgery in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire and a GP partner at Bourne End and Wooburn Green Medical Centre, Buckinghamshire. He has gained experience and expertise in the management of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes by working as an associate specialist in diabetes at the diabetic clinic at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. In addition, Dr Raj Vaikunthanathan is also extensively trained in aviation medicine and is a UK CAA approved Aero- Medical Examiner (AME).
